This blog is really about our kids, Jacqui and Kyle:

Jacqui is a wonderfully energetic and opinionated five-year-old. She was born with a rare birth defect known as a lymphatic malformation (LM) and has been through a lot in her young life. She had a trach until she was a year old, had surgery in New York to remove her LM with world renowned surgeon, Dr. Milton Waner (at age three), and still has a G-tube. She is a bright sunny soul in spite of everything.

Kyle is a thoughtful, and slightly reserved 2-year-old with a magical giggle and a wise-looking smile. He is clever and charming and a bundle of pure joy.

Our goal as parents: To treasure every moment and to raise our children to be extraordinary individuals.

Welcome to an inside view of our world!

    Oh my, Kyle is growing! Growing up handsomely I might add.
    Do you think he’ll be able to hold his own against Jacqui through the years? ;)
    BTW, how are you guys?

    Thanks guys :)

    Yep… Kyle will hold his own and then some… he’s becoming quite the character. And an opinionated one to boot. Which Jacqui isn’t particularly fond of. She told me the other day that she liked him better when he couldn’t talk (somebody doesn’t like being upstaged … :P )

    We’re surviving. Sort of. Everybody is still sick. I’m still on prednisone and getting about 3 hours of sleep a night. On a good night, that is. I usually only work two Saturdays a month, but I’m working all week this week. I had a 10 hour shift Monday, an 8 hour today, have a 12-hour shift tomorrow and Thursday and a 10 on Friday. Then it goes back to two Saturdays a month. Kyle puked on me twice this morning as I was trying to head out the door. I really want this week to be over. So in a nutshell? I guess we’re nuts… 8-}

    Bummer that all of you are still fighting the sickies,– I think we need to get better weapons againist the sickies— hummm… if only we could use Jacqui’s energy to defeat them! B-)
    (I remember praying that Shane would talk to me so that I knew what he wanted or needed, now I pray that he just keeps it short and sweet! AGH!)
    Thru the trials —
    the Joy after
    MAY it be that much sweeter! :x
